Bukit Lawang is a tourist village located on the banks of the Bohorok River, about a 3-4 hour drive from Medan. This village is the gateway to Gunung Leuser National Park, home to approximately 5,000 endangered Sumatran orangutans. In addition to orangutans, visitors can also see other wildlife such as long-tailed macaques, Thomas’s leaf monkeys, gibbons, and various bird species.

Bukit Lawang Lake Toba Tour Package Itinerary

Day 1: Medan – Bahorok (D)

The Bahorok tour package begins with a pick-up at Kualanamu Airport in Medan, where you will be greeted by our tour guide or driver. The group then departs for Bukit Lawang in the Bahorok area of ​​Langkat Regency via Binjai City. Upon arrival at Bukit Lawang, the group checks in at the hotel and dinner is served at the hotel restaurant. Free time.

Day 2: Bahorok – Trekking (Optional) – Medan – Berastagi (BLD)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. If you’re interested, we offer an optional jungle trekking tour. This activity allows you to trek in the jungle for 2 hours, guided by a local tour guide. However, there is no guarantee of encountering orangutans.

However, most tourists who join the trek are successful in encountering orangutans. After the trek, the group returns to Bukit Lawang to check out. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant en route to Berastagi.

Arriving in Berastagi, check into your hotel. If time and weather permit, you can ask your guide to arrange a hot spring visit at Lau Sidebuk-Debuk in the Doulu area, right at the foot of Mount Sibayak, at your own expense. Dinner will be served at the hotel restaurant.

Day 3: Berastagi – Parapat – Samosir Tour (BLD)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. This morning, the group will visit the Fruit Market in the heart of Berastagi. You can shop for fresh fruit from Karo farmers. You can also shop for various souvenirs or ride a horse or carriage (sado) around the Fruit Market at your own expense. The journey begins towards Lake Toba via Kaban Jahe.

Stop at Sipisopiso Waterfall to enjoy the beauty of Lake Toba from the northeast, with the waterfall cascading into the lake. You will also visit the Rumah Bolon in Pematang Purba, a large, long house that was once the residence of an ancient king, complete with all its unique features and legends.

Next, stop at Simarjarunjung, a restroom stop and a view of Lake Toba from the east. If you’re interested, you can enjoy fried bananas and Simarjarunjung’s signature bandrek (a traditional dish made from Simarjarunjung’s traditional spices) at your own expense.

Arriving in Parapat, have lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, you’ll take a tour of Samosir Island, visiting Tomok and Ambarita by motorboat specifically for groups (FIT only visits Tomok by public motorboat accompanied by a tour guide). Both are historical attractions on Samosir Island, located on the shores of the lake.

In Ambarita, there’s a place called Huta Siallagan, which houses several original Toba Batak traditional houses built without nails, a banyan tree (hariara), a stone courtroom table, a place for shackling, and a place for The death penalty execution site. Ambarita also has a souvenir shop.

Tomok is a village home to a traditional market, the stone tomb of King Sidabutar, and sigale-gale (wooden human puppets) that perform the Batak tortor dance accompanied by audio music. Tomok also has a larger souvenir shop than Ambarita. The group heads to Parapat and checks in at the hotel. Free program.

Day 4: Parapat – Medan (BLD)

Breakfast at the hotel and check out. The group leaves Lake Toba and returns to Medan via Pematang Siantar. Stop at Toko Paten in Pematang Siantar to shop for souvenirs and local Pematang Siantar specialties such as tengteng, tangtang, tingting, and others, made primarily from peanuts. Lunch is served at a local restaurant en route to Medan. Upon arrival in Medan, proceed directly to the hotel and dinner is served at a local restaurant.

Day 5: Medan – City Tour – Airport (BL)

Breakfast at the hotel restaurant and check out. The group will take a city tour of Medan, visiting Maimun Palace and Al-Mashun Grand Mosque. Lunch will be served at a local restaurant. After lunch, shop for Medan souvenirs until it’s time to transfer to the airport for your next destination. The tour concludes.
